If you love dressing up, you've probably been looking forward to Halloween all year. And with the surplus of clever costume ideas born out of every day of this weird, weird year, who can blame you? If you happen to be pregnant, however, you may feel like your costume options are more limited this time around. But don't fret. Pregnancy is actually an opportunity for you to get even more creative.

A pregnant belly is, in fact, the perfect way to get ultra-inventive with your Halloween costume. Sure, there's nothing stopping you from dressing up as the pregnant version of your costume of choice, and you should by all means dress up as a pregnant Harley Quinn if you so wish.

But look at it this way: There are some costumes that you can really only do when you have a baby bump. So why waste the opportunity to get dressed up in them while you can?

Whether you're on the lookout for a scary, cute, or just plain comfy Halloween costume, we've got your back. Without further ado, click ahead for some Halloween costume inspiration that takes your bump into account.

Joanna Wellick

If you're looking for something a little more obscure, take a little inspiration from Mr. Robot's Joanna Wellick, circa season one. Sure, Joanna's outfits aren't always super-recognizable, but there are exceptions — and you can always get creative with a (fake) bloody fork.

You'll need: The aforementioned bloody fork, and perfectly flicked eyeliner.

Juno

This one is a bit of a throwback, but Juno’s status as a cult icon can’t be denied.

You’ll need: It’s probably one of the easiest costumes to DIY — all you need is a striped tee, a pair of jeans, a plaid skirt, and a trusty ponytail.

Avocado

If you love avocados as much as we do, this one’s a no-brainer. Plus, if you don’t have the time or energy for DIY, this one is pretty low-touch.

You’ll need: The costume is available for purchase from Amazon (and check express shipping if you need a last-minute costume ASAP).

Kate Middleton

A costume for anyone looking to be a Duchess among peasants on Halloween night.

You’ll need: You really can pick any of the Duchess of Cambridge’s regal maternity outfits — but that fantastic blow-out is non-negotiable.

Rosemary’s Baby

And if you want a Halloween costume that’s properly scary, look no further. Draw inspiration from the 1968 horror film starring Mia Farrow as a woman who is impregnated with the spawn of Satan.

You’ll need: A babydoll dress, and maybe even a fake devil baby, à la Ginnifer Goodwin.

Betty Draper

Mad Men’s Betty Draper was the epitome of timeless beauty and grace. We want to steal her look on a daily basis, so it’s no surprise that Don Draper’s first wife is also #pregnancygoals.

You’ll need: A chic updo and a properly silhouetted ’50s gown.

Beyoncé

Never forget the moment that will go down in pop-culture history, during which Bey simultaneously announced her pregnancy and slayed all of us.

You’ll need: A white blouse, a pair of black trousers, a sequined jacket, and perfectly coiffed hair.

The Baker’s Wife (From Into The Woods)

We didn’t forget about you, musical-theater fans. Into the Woods opens with a barren Baker’s Wife, who, spoiler alert, doesn’t remain that way throughout the musical.

You’ll need: A linen dress, a puffy-sleeved blouse, and a basket of bread and/or a bread roller for good measure. Baker not included, but feel free to bring one with you (couples’ costume alert!).

Bridget Jones

The release of Bridget Jones’s Baby earlier this year brought the lovably relatable Bridge back into our lives — and this time, she’s pregnant.

You’ll need: A cozy knit cardigan and, of course, a diary.
