With “Super Tuesday Part 4” upon us, the stakes are getting even higher for the candidates. Tuesday’s primaries will see voters in Connecticut, Delaware, Maryland, Pennsylvania, and Rhode Island weighing in.
Maryland and Pennsylvania are this week’s heavy hitters, with 118 and 210 delegates respectively to award to the Democratic candidates. Between all five states, there are 462 delegates to be allocated in one day.
It could be a make-or-break moment for both candidates. While Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders remain in a relatively tight race, front-runner Clinton increased the gap after a strong win in New York, and is now leading Sanders by 242 delegates. A solid win by Sanders in one or more of the delegate-rich states could keep his momentum strong, but a sweep by Clinton would give her a comfortable cushion.
Polls close in all five states at 8 p.m. EDT, and we’ll be updating here with the expected winners as the results roll in. Ahead, catch up on who has won the contests held so far.
