In Lemonade, Beyoncé continues to celebrate the power and beauty of Black women. That same unapologetic Blackness from "Formation" re-emerges in Lemonade's stunning visuals and through the array of Black hair that appears throughout the piece. We're treated to Afros, cornrows, twist-outs, freeform curls, and sleek buns. We see women with long waves and intricately braided updos — and many of the styles are worn by Beyoncé throughout the hour-long special.

Beyoncé's hair is actually hidden in the first few scenes of Lemonade. She rocks a hoodie in a cornfield, her hair completely covered. But she also wears two headwraps: one black as she sits alone on a stage and this beautifully printed headscarf.
When Beyoncé dives off of a building and lands into a watery dream — viewing herself while floating — we see this look. Beyoncé serves up some serious mermaid hair.
When she emerges from the abyss, Beyoncé walks through the streets with a baseball bat and all of the rage. She also shows us what that mermaid hair looks like while dry: Long, ombré blonde tresses crimped down to her bum.
Beyoncé asks, "Who the fuck do you think I am?" with these long, blonde cornrows. We've seen them before in "Formation" and way back when The Writings On The Wall was released. The message is clear: Remember exactly who I am.
