Now that summer months are finally within reach, we’re already plotting our next big vacay. And, of course, we’re sitting here scratching our heads as to where, exactly, to go. That's why we enlisted our pals over at Tiny Atlas Quarterly for some guidance.

In honor of the mag's latest issue, which explores the West Coast, founder and publisher Emily Nathan is sharing tips on where to stay, eat, and play in some of the region's coolest enclaves. From camping in remote La Push, Washington, to a Big Sur eatery you can’t miss, consider your summer vacation planned.

Looking for a unique, modern stay in Mexico? The Encuentro Guadalupe is the way to go. The hotel houses sleek pods on a low mountain, overlooking a rolling wine valley. It also features an infinity pool and a glass villa if you're looking to take things up a notch.

Where To Eat: Cocina de Doña Esthela

This beloved spot is bestfor "ridiculously delicious home-style cooked Mexican food," Nathan says. Locals know it as a tried-and-true hangover cure, and Esthela herself makes all the tacos right in front of you. You can't beat that.

Where To Eat: Outerlands

This beachy brunch hangout is a local favorite. Located on the edge of the city in the Outer Sunset, trust us when we say that it is worth the two-hour wait. Truly. Don't skip the eggs in jail— it's beyond tasty.

To blend in with the locals in S.F., taking a hike in the city or the surrounding areas is a must. Try the scenic Tennessee Valley hike just over the Golden Gate Bridge in Marin for awe-inspiring views.
